These terms and conditions apply to the sale of any course or training-related meeting including online training advertised by OCR whether on its website or in any other medium. Please read these Terms and Conditions of Use carefully.

Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations (OCR) 1 Hills Road, Cambridge is a company limited by guarantee, registered in England. "We" means OCR.

By submitting your booking for yourself or on another's behalf, you are agreeing to:

1. The booking process

  • To book online at you'll need to log in or register if you're a new user. We can't take responsibility if bookings made by other methods don't reach us.
  • Booking online secures your place immediately and you will receive an immediate emailed acknowledgement of your request for a course place (this is not formal confirmation you have a place; a formal confirmation email will follow). If you can't book online, you can make a booking by email, fax or post (processed on a first come, first served basis). We can't accept provisional or telephone bookings.
  • For charged courses, we cannot accept a Purchase Order (PO) on its own. If you have a PO, the PO Number must accompany one of the above methods of booking.
  • We will confirm your place by email. If you haven't received any correspondence 10 working days before the event, call us on 024 7649 6398 or email
  • If your chosen course is full, you have the option online to book onto a waiting list. If we add another date at this location, we'll automatically transfer you to this and confirm details with you. Please check your confirmation details carefully.
  • We accept and process bookings on the basis that you have followed all the internal procurement procedures of your centre and you will be invoiced accordingly. By making a booking, you are also confirming that the information you submit is accurate and complete.
  • Lunch is usually provided unless otherwise indicated. We will ensure there is a vegetarian option available. Whilst we will try to accommodate other dietary needs at the venues we use, we cannot guarantee these can be met. Lunch provision will vary from venue to venue dependent on their facilities and the number of delegates.
  • We will try to book venues which are Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant in order to meet special access needs, but we can't guarantee to meet all requests. Please check with the venue if you have any queries about arrangements; their website details will be provided in your confirmation email.
  • Bookings are made at your own risk and we can't take responsibility for courses booked in error in relation to their location, time, date or content. This responsibility lies with your organisation (or you if you are booking as a private individual.)
  • If you register your interest in a course, it isn't a confirmed booking. If we do receive sufficient interest to arrange a date/location, we'll contact everyone who has registered their details. You'll then be asked to make a confirmed booking through CPD Hub and accept our Terms and Conditions.

2. Booking on behalf of a colleague

If you're booking for another person, you must:

  • Ensure their availability.
  • Ensure the course is the right one for their area of interest.
  • Pass on the confirmation or provide their contact details so we can send confirmation directly.
  • Be aware of these Terms and Conditions and make sure they're passed on to the delegate.

3. Payment process and adjustments to standard course fees

  • For approved OCR centres, with an existing credit account, bookings for charged events will be invoiced. If you book online you can choose to pay with a credit or debit card (excluding American Express).

4. Delegate cancellations and transfers

  • Up to three working days before a course date, you can cancel your own place via CPD Hub. Within three working days, you'll need to let us know you are cancelling your place in writing to See below for charges. Working days are classed as Monday to Friday. We'll email to let you know we've received and actioned your cancellation.

  • To transfer to a different course, you can cancel your place and rebook yourself on a different course via CPD Hub, working to the same timescales outlined above for cancellations.
  • You may send a substitute/replacement delegate at no additional cost and without notice to OCR. You will need to make sure that any substitute on the day asks the trainer to amend the register on arrival to show the correct delegate name.
  • Our free training events won't incur any penalty fees, but so we can offer your place to another delegate, you must notify us of your cancellation in good time.

5. Cancellation of courses and travel refund requests

  • Please contact us before making any firm travel bookings if you're doing so well in advance of a course date. We'll try to provide adequate notice should we have to cancel an event - we normally aim to provide two working weeks - but reserve the right to amend or cancel an event at any time without liability for any travel or other cost incurred by the delegate. If you pre-book travel tickets or make other arrangements to attend a course, we strongly recommend you take out insurance or book 'fully refundable' travel tickets/accommodation in case of cancellation; we're unable to refund any travel, accommodation or teacher supply cover costs under any circumstances.
  • We will not refund the course fee or other costs should you book a course place in error and fail to cancel with adequate cancellation notice.
  • We'll always try to run our events. There may be circumstances that affect you that are beyond our control such as rail/tube strikes or inclement weather. In these instances, the decision to attend or not rests solely with you and we're unable to refund course fees for courses that take place.
  • To enable us to contact you at short notice if required, we strongly recommend you provide an emergency contact number.

6. Your contact details

  • We'd like to make sure you're kept up to date with relevant information from OCR and our Publishers, including information about forthcoming events. When you register with OCR's CPD Hub, you'll be given the opportunity to notify us that you don't wish to receive further communication. If you book by other methods, you can email to ask to be removed from our mailing lists.

7. Additional venue requirements

  • Please note all courses covering examined units must be recorded in line with Ofqual regulations. Recordings will be subject to internal quality monitoring only and will not be made public.
  • You may be required to provide photo ID when entering some of our venues. Please check your confirmation email for details.
  • All personal items that you bring with you to a training course are at your own risk. OCR accepts no responsibility in relation to their loss or damage.

8. Quality control

  • We reserve the right to take photographs at or to film some events. Please check your confirmation letter for details.
  • We may undertake audio recording of the training course you attend. These recordings will normally be for monitoring and quality purposes. Please note we reserve the right to make public our recordings of live online teacher training courses on the CPD Hub or other OCR website.

9. Online training courses

  • We accept no responsibility in relation to technical faults either with your IT equipment or at your centre when you attend an online training course.
